If there is a problem with the Xbox360, the four LEDs in the ring of light will flash in a particular pattern. The pattern itself leads some insight to the problem. Certain patterns will lead to numbered error codes which will provide further insight to the problem. The numbered error codes are described below their corresponding LED code and with solutions.
The most common and the worst problem is the 0102 [unknown error].In this tutorial, this is the problem i tested and solved.
Here is a simple and working solution**.
What we need to solve the 0102:
A heatgun
Arctic Silver 5.
When we have the error 0102, this is the error from leds.
Open your Xbox 360 and remove the DVD Rom. Now remove and the other side and try to remove the GPU heatsink by remove these clips first. The
GPU's is the smaller heatsink.
Now we have the mainboard. We need to apply hot air (to fix soldering issues) in GPU, Ram and Southbridge. So, we need to cover all the rest mainboard to protect the components from heat.
Now, with heatgun start to apply hot air to mainboard. Remember to do this only for 2-3 minutes and to focus on solders points and not directly to components. And be careful, apply the air in circles.
Note: Do NOT apply for more the 10 seconds in GPU hot air. You will have problems in graphics.
Apply in both sides of mobo and after 2-3 minutes focus in GPU, Ram chips and Southbridge (in circles always). Do this for another 2 minutes. When finish, let the mainboard cold down and DO NOT touch anything. After 20 minutes, remove the heatsink from CPU and apply in both chips (CPU and GPU) Arctic Silver.
Now put back the heatsinks and tight the screws on heatsinks. You are done. Your Xbox 360 should working fine.

THINGS TO TRY
=============================
Sections 1, 3, and 4 are flashing red
You should be able to determine the difference between the 3 flashing lights and the error code lights by the rate in which they flash.
Here is how you interpret the LEDs to get the code number:
0001 power supply problem
0002 power supply problem
...
0010 over heating
0011 over heating
0012 over heating
0013 over heating
...
0020 (Not yet known, possibly overheating)
...
0022 GPU Error / GPU Overheating
...
0102 unknown error - literally means the console does not know what is wrong. possibly a short or cold solder joint somewhere (2 reports of people repairing this, one was removing moisture build up inside the console, the other used a hot-air rework to reflow the BGA Ram chips)
...
0110 (Not yet known)
...
1022 (Not yet known)

PREVENTION SUGGESTIONS
To try to prevent this problem, use the following precautions:
DO NOT EVER PUT YOUR CONSOLE IN THE FREEZER OR OUT IN COLD WEATHER
Some people think that doing this might help "fix" an overheating console, in fact doing so could cause even bigger problems.
Electronic devices like your console are made to function at and around room temperature, extreme cold temperatures can often cause just as many problems as extreme warm temperatures (such as overheating). Also if the console is located in a dramatically cold area while running, the difference in temperature between the hot console and cold air can create condensation which in turn will short out your console making the situation far worse. Condensation will happen more quickly if your console is overheating due to the greater difference in temperature. In short... DON'T DO IT.
