How to make a Rip of a DVD-A disc

This is a proper method to make a rip of your own DVD-Audio (Not DVD-Video with music content, but the DVD Audio disks).

Also Needed
-Windows 2000/XP
-WinDVD7

How to

Step 1
Download and install WinDVD. When finish with installation, select from your soundcard’s panel, 6 speakers.

If you have and Audigy 2 sound card, make sure "Creative DVD Audio Plugin for Audigy Series" is not installed. If it is installed, uninstall it. Open the WinDVD7 and go to audio center.

Select “Listen on” 6 speakers so that WinDVD doesn't downmix the output to stereo. Close WinDVD.

Step2
Open the DVD-A’s directory. Search for the file DVDAUDIO.MKB. If the file DVDAUDIO.MKB (media key block) exists in the AUDIO_TS directory on the DVD-A disc, then the disc is CPPM-protected.

A CPPM-protected disc can only be captured as a stereo downmix by PPCMRipper unless it is decrypted first. If no .MKB file exists, skip this step (2) and continue with Step 3.

A) To Decrypt the .AOB files from the AUDIO_TS folder, you need the
DVDARipper. Go to Start -> Run and type C:Test DVDARipper
D:AUDIO_TS C:TEMP (or whatever you may want) DVDARipper will open the WinDVD Player and should start and ripping process too. If ripping process didn't start just try to start playback manually.

B) Decrypt the .VOB files in the VIDEO_TS folder on the DVD-A disc using DVDDecrypter or load the AnyDVD and copy the files manually.

C) Now you must burn both folders as DVD-Audio disc. Use GEAR PRO Mastering Edition. Or you can make it an image and mount to Daemon Tools.

Step 3
A) First we need to know the sample rate of the audio on the DVD-A disc (usually 96kHz). Determine the sample rate of the audio on your DVD-A disc (usually 96kHz).

Run DVDAExplorer , and select File -> Open. Navigate to the AUDIO_TS directory and open the AUDIO_TS.IFO so you can view the properties, including sample rate, of each track on the disc.

B) Go to Start->Run and type C:Test PPCMRipper 96000 C:TEMP (or whatever you may want). This command will open the WinDVD. In WinDVD, open your drive containing your DVD-A disc, select the first track, press play, and now wait for the entire disc to play all the way through.

PPCMRipper will capture the raw output data as the tracks are played. It will create a new .WAV file for each audio track as they are encountered.

C) When the disc is done playing, exit WinDVD. All of the tracks are now
captured as .WAV files in your output directory.
